$10,000 REWARD OFFERED FOR ARREST OF LATIN KING LEADER

Robert D. Grant, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Chicago office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced today that a reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the location and arrest of VICENTE GARCIA, age 30, whose last known address was 556 Emerson Circle in Bolingbrook , Illinois .

GARCIA has been the subject of a nationwide manhunt, coordinated by Chicago FBI’s Joint Task Force on Gangs (JTFG), since September of this year, when he was charged in a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Chicago with violation of federal drug and firearms laws.

GARCIA is alleged to be a high ranking member of the Latin Kings street gang and is charged with overseeing the distribution of cocaine at various locations throughout the City of Chicago and in the suburbs. GARCIA was among 40 gang members and associates charged as the result of an investigation code named “Operation Pesadilla”, which targeted the leadership of the notorious street gang. GARCIA is one of only five defendants from this case who is still at large.

GARCIA is described as a Hispanic/male, 30 years of age, 5’11” tall, heavy build, weighing approximately 225 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes with slight facial hair. There is a tattoo of a crown on his chest and the letters “LK” tattooed on the back of his shoulder. GARCIA is also known to use the street names of “DK”, “Coon” and “Possum”.

Anyone recognizing GARCIA or having any information as to his current whereabouts is asked to call the Chicago FBI at (312) 421-6700 .

The Chicago FBI’s Joint Task Force on Gangs is comprised of FBI Special Agents and Detectives from the CPD, Gang Crimes Unit.

The public is reminded that a complaint is not evidence of guilt and that all defendants in a criminal case are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Additional copies of the attached wanted flyer or the criminal complaint filed in this case are available from the Chicago FBI’s press office at (312) 829-1199.
