HINSDALE BANK ROBBER SOUGHT

Robert D. Grant, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is asking for the public's help in identifying the individual depicted in the attached surveillance photos, who is believed responsible for the March 17th armed take-over robbery of the Harris Bank branch located at 120 West Hinsdale Avenue, located in West suburban Hinsdale.

According to witnesses, a masked robber, armed with a handgun, confronted two bank employees as they opened the bank branch for the day. The robber was then able to gain access to the vault, where he placed an undisclosed amount of cash into a garbage bag, which he brought with him to the bank. He then fled the scene on foot, with his last direction of travel and mode of escape not observed. No shots were fired and no one was injured as a result of this robbery.
This same individual is also believed to be responsible for the January 12, 2008, robbery of the Hinsdale Bank and Trust branch, located at 130 West Chestnut, also in Hinsdale, Illinois.

Witnesses have described the robber as black/male, in his late 20's,
5'4" - 5'6" tall, slender-medium build, wearing a thick gray zippered/hooded sweatshirt, black knit cap, black mask partially covering face, tight-fitting black pants, black shoes, white ankle-high socks, and dark-colored thick gloves.

Anyone recognizing this individual or having information about this robbery is asked to call the Chicago FBI at (312) 421-6700.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Additional copies of the attached flyer is available from the Chicago FBI's press office at (312) 829-1199.
