FBI SEARCHING FOR "TEN SECOND BANDIT"Robert D. Grant, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Chicago office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is asking for the public's help in identifying the individual depicted in the attached surveillance photos, who is believed responsible for the armed robbery of two banks and the attempted robbery of a third, dating to late December of last year. In the most recent incident, which occurred on January 21st, this individual entered the MB Financial Bank branch, located at 800 West Madison Street in Chicago, approached a teller and handed her a note announcing a robbery and demanding cash from her drawer. The note threatened the teller with physical harm and gave her "10 seconds" to comply with his demand. He used the same or similar note in the two prior robberies, hence the moniker "Ten Second Bandit". Although he claimed to be armed, no weapon has been displayed in any of the three incidents and no injuries have been reported. The two prior thefts occurred at MB Financial Bank branches located at 5670 North Milwaukee Avenue on January 7, 2008 and at 1 South Wacker Drive on December 21, 2007, both located in Chicago. Witnesses have described the "Ten Second Bandit" as a black/male, 25 - 35 years of age, 5'7" - 6'0" tall, medium build, with a thin mustache and a pockmarked face. In all three robberies, he has fled the bank on foot. These robberies are being investigated by the Chicago FBI's Violent Crimes Task Force (VCTF), which is comprised of FBI Special Agents, Chicago Police Detectives and Investigators from the Cook County Sheriff's Police. Anyone recognizing this individual or having information about any of these robberies is asked to call the Chicago FBI at (312) 421-6700. EDITOR'S NOTE: Additional
