PUBLIC’S HELP SOUGHT IN SEARCH FOR BOLINGBROOK FUGITIVE

Robert D. Grant, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Chicago office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is again asking for the public’s help in locating CHARLES KNIGHT, whose last known address was 567 Thomas Road in Bolingbrook , Illinois .

KNIGHT has been the subject of a nationwide manhunt, coordinated by the Chicago FBI, since being charged in a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Chicago with Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution (UFAP), which is a felony offense. KNIGHT is wanted by local authorities in Winnebago County for the April 2005 shooting death of a Rockford man during an attempted drug deal.

Knight is also wanted by authorities in Lake County , Illinois for the December 2007 armed robbery of the Silo restaurant in Knollwood and the shooting of two employees. Though seriously wounded, both employees survived.

KNIGHT is described as a black/male, 44 years of age, 6’3” tall, 250 pounds, heavy build, balding with black hair and brown eyes. KNIGHT was last known to be driving a gold or red colored Ford Taurus. Given the nature of the crimes which KNIGHT is charged with committing, he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone recognizing KNIGHT or having any information about his current whereabouts is asked to call Chicago FBI at (312) 421-6700.

The public is reminded that a complaint is not evidence of guilt and that all defendants in a criminal case are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Additional copies of the attached wanted flyer are available from the Chicago FBI’s press office at (312) 829-1199.
