MARKHAM WOMAN ARRESTED FOR 2004 BANK ROBBERY

Robert D. Grant, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Chicago office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Jeff Chudwin, Chief of the Olympia Fields, Illinois Police Department (OFPD) announced today the arrest of TEQIUTA N. BERRY, age 28, of 16243 Winchester Avenue in Markham, Illinois. BERRY was arrested earlier today, without incident, by FBI Special Agents.

BERRY was charged in an indictment returned Thursday by a Federal Grand Jury in Chicago with the April 6, 2004 robbery of the TCF Bank branch, located at 2500 Lincoln Highway in Olympia Fields. The one (1) count indictment charges BERRY with Bank Robbery, which is a felony offense.

BERRY appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Nan Nolan in Chicago, earlier this afternoon, at which time she was formally charged. BERRY was released on a $4500 personal recognizance bond, pending her next scheduled court appearance. If convicted of the charge filed against her, BERRY faces a possible sentence of up to 20 years incarceration.

The public is reminded that an indictment is not evidence of guilt and that all defendants in a criminal case are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

EDITOR’S NOTE:  A copy of the indictment returned in this case is available from the Chicago FBI’s press office at (312) 829-1199.
