PUBLIC'S HELP SOUGHT IN SEARCH FOR BANK ROBBERS

Robert D. Grant, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Chicago office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is asking for the public's help in identifying the individuals depicted in the attached photographs, who are believed to be responsible for the armed take-over robbery of Fifth-Third Bank branch,
located at 1606 East 79th Street in Chicago, which occurred on January 22nd of this year.

According to witnesses, two Robbers, both armed with handguns, entered the bank at approximately 10:00 A.M. Robber #1 pushed past the security guard and confronted a bank teller at gunpoint. Robber #2 stayed by the front door of the bank and ordered the security guard, several bank customers and a bank employee to get on the floor. Robber #1 had the bank teller place an undisclosed amount of currency into a black colored trash bag, which Robber #1 had brought into the bank.

The two robbers then fled the bank on foot, leaving the area in a waiting vehicle, described by witnesses as a newer model Ford pick-up, white in color. No shots were fired during the robbery and no injuries were reported.


Robber #1 was described as follows:
Sex: Male
Race: Black
Age: Between 35 and 50 years old
Height: Approximately 6'2" to 6'4"
Build: Medium
Clothing: Light colored construction hard hat;
white colored asbestos mask over face; dark jacket; light colored hoodie with the hood up.

Robber#2 was described as follows:
Sex: Male
Race: Black
Age: Between 35 and 50 years old
Height: Approximately 5'6" to 5'7"
Build: Medium
Facial: Mustache
Clothing: Dark colored stocking cap, dark colored jacket.

This robbery is being investigated by the Chicago FBI's Violent Crimes Task Force (VCTF), which is comprised of FBI Special Agents, Detectives from the Chicago Police Department (CPD) and Investigators from the Cook County Sheriff's Police (CCSP).
