October 31, 2006 WOODRIDGE MAN ARRESTED ON CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGESRobert D. Grant, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced today the arrest of HUSTON KLINE, age 28, of 7606 Woodridge Drive in Woodridge, Illinois. KLINE was arrested this morning at his residence, without incident, by members of the Chicago FBI's Innocent Images Task Force (IITF), assisted by Inspectors from the U.S. Postal Service; Investigators from the Cook County Sheriff's Police and Officers of the Woodridge Police Department.
KLINE was charged in a criminal complaint filed this afternoon in U.S. District Court in Chicago with one (1) count of Manufacture of Child Pornography, which is a felony offense. According to the complaint, an individual subsequently identified as KLINE met and established an on-line relationship with a minor/female on the "MySpace.com" website in the spring of this year. The relationship continued through September, with KLINE eventually convincing the minor/female to take sexually explicit photographs of herself and to send them to KLINE via the internet. The complaint further alleges that KLINE convinced the minor/female to have a friend of her's, who was also a minor/female, take and send sexually explicit photographs of herself to KLINE via the internet. It is also alleged that Kline engaged in sexual contact with the first minor/female. This investigation was initiated when a counselor at the first minor/female victim's school suspected that girl was having an inappropriate sexual relationship with an adult/male. The counselor contacted the Cook County Sheriff's Police, Child Exploitation Unit, who in turn referred the case to, and worked closely with, the Chicago FBI's IITF in the investigation of this matter.
KLINE appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Morton Denlow, earlier today, at which time he was formally charged. KLINE was ordered held without bond until his next scheduled court appearance. If convicted of the charge against him, KLINE faces a mandatory minimum sentence of fifteen (15) years incarceration.
The Chicago FBI's Innocent Images Task Force is part of a nationwide effort to identify and arrest those individuals who manufacture, distribute or possess child pornography. Chicago's IITF is comprised of FBI Special Agents and Investigators from the Morris, Illinois Police Department.
The public is reminded that a complaint is not evidence of guilt and that all defendants in a criminal case are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
