November 21, 2006 REWARD OFFERED IN ARMORED CAR ROBBERY Robert D. Grant, Special Agent-in-Charge of the Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is asking for the public's help in identifying the individuals depicted in the attached photographs, who are responsible for the October 27th armed robbery of a Davis Bancorp armored car. The theft occurred outside the Shore Bank branch, located at 7936 South Cottage Grove in Chicago. After making a pick-up from the bank, one of the armored car's guards was returning to the vehicle, which was parked just outside. The guard was confronted by two armed robbers, who disarmed him and fled with two money bags, which contained an undisclosed amount of cash. A third individual, who was not caught on film, served as a look-out. The three robbers then fled through a pre-cut hole in a nearby fence into a waiting vehicle. The robbers arrived in a white Oldsmobile minivan, that was reported stolen from Calumet City, Illinois, two weeks earlier. No shots were fired and no injuries were reported. Robber number one is described as a black/male, 25-35 years of age, 6' tall, 225-250 pounds, heavy build, with a mustache and goatee. Robber number two is described as a black/male, 30-40 years of age, 6' - 6'2" tall, thin build, light complected. Robber number three is described only as a black/male. These same individuals are also believed responsible for the August 14th robbery of a United Armored Services (UAS) guard outside the River Oaks mall in Calumet City, during which a guard was shot twice in the face. The guard survived the attack and has since returned to work with UAS. In appealing to the public for help, Mr. Grant noted that the FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of either of these individuals. An additional $10,000 has been offered by the Davis Bancorp, making the total reward offer $20,000. This robbery is being investigated by the Chicago FBI's Violent Crimes Task Force (VCTF), which is comprised of FBI Special Agents, Detectives from the Chicago Police Department (CPD) and Investigators from the Cook County Sheriff's Police (CCSP). Anyone recognizing either of these individual or having any information about either of these robberies is asked to call the Chicago FBI at (312) 421-6700. EDITOR's
