Robert D. Grant, Special Agent in Charge of the Chicago Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced today the arrest of ANDREW BAJEK, age 32, of 5630 South Nagle Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. BAJEK was arrested yesterday, without incident, by members of the Chicago FBI's Innocent Images Task Force , based on an arrest warrant issued in New York.

BAJEK was charged in a criminal complaint filed April 4, 2006, in U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York, with employing and using a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purposes of producing a visual depiction of such conduct and knowingly transporting child pornography in interest commerce, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 2251(a) and 2252A) (a) (1).

According to the complaint, during the Spring of 2006, BAJEK, using the subscriber name of , met a minor child on-line in a popular website frequently used by teenagers known as "Bolt2" . Initially, BAJEK was able to persuade the child to send pornographic images of herself to him. However, when BAJEK asked for more photos, the child refused, at which time BAJEK began threatening her. The child informed her parents, who in turn contacted the New York FBI. Subsequent investigation resulted in the charges announced today.

BAJEK appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Maria Valdez in Chicago, late yesterday afternoon, at which time he was ordered removed to the Western District of New York to answer the charges filed against him.

The public is reminded that a complaint is not evidence of guilt and that all defendants in a criminal case are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
